    Plan Your New Year!

A new year! A new opportunity! The first step in having a fulfilling and amazing new year ahead of you is to plan it accordingly. Only if you know your destination you can actually get there.

This past year, you have probably taken many risks in your personal life as well as in your business. You’ve accomplished a lot and you’re on your way to create the life you really want! For me, the beginning of a new year is always a great opportunity to review my accomplishments, see what I can learn from the past year, and design a plan for the coming year.

I like to invite you to join me on this journey of self discovery and to take some time to relish what you’ve accomplished. When did you last take some time to honor yourself?

Here are three of the best questions I’ve found to guide me in completing the past year and three questions for planning this year! I hope they’ll support you in your journey as much as they’ve helped me to create the business and life of my dreams!

    To complete the past year:

What are you accomplishments for the past year? What are you proud of? What brought you joy?
I challenge you to come up with at least 20 accomplishments, both tangible results and personal growth. A few areas to consider are improvements of your self-care, risks you’ve taken, fear you’ve faced, joy you’ve experienced, how you’ve helped others to improve their lives, or your success in business.

What were the top three accomplishments of the past year? How are they aligned with your true values?
Your true values are the behavior and activities to which you’re naturally drawn. Values are who you really are. This includes things like: creating, contributing, connecting, adventure, or spirituality. Looking at your 20 accomplishments choose your top three and see how they align with your true values.

What can you learn from this past year? Where are you willing to grow and change?
With your reflection of the past year you probably not only see accomplishments but also areas where you could improve. Looking back you might see how you could have done something differently.

    To plan for this year:

What is your theme for this year?
Your theme can be anything and you probably already now it. If not, here are some examples:
    • ‘Take more time for myself’
    • ‘Be happy’
    • ‘Get back in the driver seat’
    • ‘Spend more time with my family’
    • ‘Create a healthy work/life balance’
    • ‘Get organized!’

What is your theme? What will be your one fundamental change for this year?

What are your 10 main goals for this year?
I challenge you to come up with 10 goals for this new year. First, a goal gives you a destination in your business journey because only if you know where you are going you can choose the right path to get there. Second, a goal gets you in action, keeps you on track, and allows you to measure your effectiveness.

In order to create a meaningful goal it should be specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timed, e.g. 3 more clients each quarter, income increase by 10% within the next 6 months, developing or updating website by March 31.

What will be your ultimate reward?
Finally, if you achieve your goal(s) what will be your reward? Will you pamper yourself, take some extra time off, have a special weekend with your friends or family? Choose something that you really look forward to!

Please feel free to send me your theme, goals, and ultimate reward, if you want some feedback... You can e-mail them to coaching@creativepartner.com

The One Page Business Plan For The Creative Entrepreneur
    by James T. Horan

Business planning has finally been simplified to One Page!

Bankers require them. Business educators advocate them. Consultants make their living writing them. And venture capitalists won't give you the time of day without one... but most entrepreneurs or small business owners can't or won't write a business plan; it's just too difficult. Until now!
