Welcome and thank you for stopping by. I'm very excited to get started with my new blog "A Beautiful Life Begins At Home", where I'll be writing about things I'm passionate about, like interior design, gardening, homemade cooking, a healthy lifestyle, and outdoor living.
My name is Petra Jakobskrueger. I was born and raised in Germany but moved to the U.S. 20 years ago. Originally, I wanted to stay for 2-3 years but you know what they say "Time flies when you you're having fun!"
I'm married to a wonderful German man, who's the reason I came to the U.S. in the first place. I love that he supports me 100% and is my rock far away from home! We live in beautiful, sunny California, in the heart of Silicon Valley, with our two children, two cats, one dog, and our bunny 'Felix'. Sometimes it feels like "our little farm". :-)
I've always had a passion for architecture, interior design, and home decor. So, when I moved to California I started my own business 'Creative Partner - Home + Design'. I truly enjoy helping clients to remodel their home and it makes me so happy when they love their newly designed space.
As a mom of two teenagers, I love cooking healthy meals and trying or creating new recipes for my family to enjoy. I'm the cook in the family, my daughter is the baker. So, we're all set! When we're not home, we enjoy traveling together. Our favorite places are by the ocean where we can do lots of water sports.
